Mined Diamonds As An Investment

Most brick and mortar jewelry stores will tell you mined diamonds are superior to lab diamonds because they hold financial value. The truth is that only very rare and very expensive mined diamonds are a good financial investment. The only financial investment you will get from a mined diamond is if you trade it in with the original jeweler towards a bigger diamond where you again pay the ridiculous margins they charge a second time. Why not just buy the bigger diamond right away. If you bought a diamond 10 years ago for $10,000, try and sell it today for a profit. You can't. In most cases the original jeweler will not buy it back for cash and you will be lucky to recoup 30% in a private party sale.
